Dogs come out for Howl'oween Canine Costume Contest

Posted

OREGON – The Oregon Park District hosted the annual Howl'oween Canine Costume Contest on Oct. 20 at Wiggly Field Dog Park.

The event was co-sponsored by Pines Meadow Vet Clinic. Dog lovers really enjoyed this event.  Who can resist adorable canines in their costumes?

This year most participants had store bought costumes, and there were some great group costumes as well. The dogs did a great job showing off as they paraded around in their Halloween outfits. Our first-place winner was Kelly. Her owner, Kristie had her dressed as Disney’s Belle.

The first-place group costume prize went to Tracker whose owner Beatrice had him dressed like a Triceratops and her son Hunter dressed like a dinosaur as well. All owners and their four-legged friends had a good time and both owners and dogs received Halloween treats before leaving the park.

We look forward to offering the contest again next year. If you are interested in participating in fun events at Wiggly Field Dog Park, be sure to get a membership and enjoy all the amenities and enclosed place for play.
