MARQUETTE, Mich. — Donald E. Hambley passed away peacefully Sunday, May 5, 2024 at DJ Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette, Michigan. Born April 3, 1942 in Dixon, Illinois to Earl and Helen (Maas) Hambley. Don joined the US Marines in 1966. He was a Vietnam Veteran. Don worked most of his life as a mechanic on heavy equipment. On September 3, 1972, he married Beatrice (Pontnak) Weigle. They lived in Illinois, Texas, Wisconsin, and Upper Michigan. Don is survived by brother Kenneth (Rhonda) Hambley, Byron, sister Patricia Miller, Mt. Morris, half sister Priscilla (Ralph Olinger Sterling, step-daughters Karen Reap, Kansas, Lynn Johnson, Georgia, Vicki Woods, Mt. Carroll, one uncle, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, wife Bea, brother-in-law Earl Miller, step-daughter Sonja Cross. Graveside service for both Don and Bea will be Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 10:30am in Chapel Hill Cemetary in Dixon, Illinois.
