Douglas Paul Roberts, born Feb. 16, 1957 to parents Paul & Marlene (Johnson) Roberts, passed away in his home Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021, from natural causes.
A longtime machinist, he worked in the Rockford area for local companies Androck Hardware and Thomason Machine Works. An avid fisherman, Doug fished many B.A.S.S. tournament with local clubs, The Rockford Hawg Hunters, and was a founding member of Stateline Bass Anglers. Doug was happiest when fishing, or visiting with his grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father Paul, and both sets of grandparents
He is survived by his mother Marlene, wife Tracy, Brothers Randy (Teresa) (Ariz.) and David (Byron), sister Sarah Lingel (Rockford), children Chad (Byron) and Haley Roberts (Pecatonica), and granddaughters Lylah and Lydia, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial was held at All Saints Lutheran Church, 624 Luther Dr., Byron, on Saturday, Oct. 16.
