Eleanor Burke, 96, passed away from natural causes on March 16, 2021.
Ellie was born and raised in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago and raised her family on the southwest and northwest sides of the city. After retirement she lived in Oregon, IL for almost 20 years where she and her late husband Bob played golf and enjoyed a rich social life until health issues brought them back to the Chicago area.
Beloved wife of 58 years to the late Robert E. Burke; devoted mother of eight, including three sets of twins: Rosemary, Robert (Gale), Kevin, Brian, Laurie, Judy, Colleen (Bryan) Hedstrom, and Denis (Faye). Dear grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt of many.
Preceded in death by parents Joseph Schuetz and Paula Schwarz Schuetz and siblings Louise, Mary, Joseph, Frank, and Catherine.
Eleanor loved animals, reading, telling jokes and being the life of the party.
