Franklin D. “Frank” Noffsinger

BYRON – Franklin D. “Frank” Noffsinger, 89, lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021 in his home in Byron. Born Nov. 24, 1932 in Oregon, the son of Earl and Peryl (Oxley) Noffsinger.

Married to Geraldine Knodle Dec. 17, 1955 in Myrtle, lll. Frank was a graduate of Oregon High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked most of his life driving truck, first for Highway Trucking, then Knox Trucking and as an independent trucker driving cross country 1978 to 2012. Frank then worked at Prairieview Golf Course in Byron until November of this year. He loved being and working outdoors, especially mowing. Frank was a member of United Church of Christ, Byron and a member and Past Commander of Byron American Legion.

Survived by his wife, Geraldine Noffsinger of Byron; son, Scott (Kelly) Noffsinger of Scottsdale, Ariz.; daughters, Vickie (James) Laurson of Rockford and Julie Sajewich of Frankfort; grandchildren: McKenzie, Aaron, Adam, Lauren, Addison and Kellie; great grandchildren: Maebry, Marek and Macklyn; and sisters, Wava Nickerson of Kentucky and Dorothy Grover of Chana.

Predeceased by his parents; son-in-law, Lyle Sajewich; brothers, Charles and Earl; and sister, Viola.

In keeping with Frank’s wishes, cremation rites are to be accorded and no services are scheduled. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family. Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Byron assisted the family.
