Fun dance events on tap

OREGON – The Oregon Park District has a special event coming soon to create fun for a lifetime for families.

The ever-popular Daddy Daughter Dance and the Mother Son Date Night are fast approaching.  It’s not too late to register, but don’t wait any longer.  The deadline is January 24, and tickets for the Winter Wonderland Dances are going quickly!

The Mother Son Date Night will take place at Nash Recreation Center, 304 S. 5th St., on Friday evening, Feb. 8 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.  Not only is there dancing, but games will offer an opportunity to earn “cold cash” to spend at the Winter Wonderland Store. Young boys will enjoy this one-on-one time with their moms or a mother- figure.

“Fathers, don’t let your daughters first dance be at her wedding,” says Debbie Leffelman, Special Events Coordinator.  “I’m amazed each year by dads and father-figures who take the time to make their little girl(s) feel special."

The Daddy Daughter Dance will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Girls will be treated to a night of dancing, food, and take home a commemorative bracelet they make at the dance.

The Winter Wonderland Dances are a perfect time to capture memories. Professional Photographer, Niki Hunt, will be taking photos throughout the evening. Photo envelopes are currently available at Nash, so your pictures are ordered ahead of time and there is no need to bring a form to the dance. Photo times are assigned based on registration date, the earlier you register the better. Times are assigned so that there is no standing in lines and missing out on the fun.

Refreshments, dance contests and the ever-popular balloon drop at the end of the evening are just part of the excitement

We encourage you to sign up now if you haven’t already. Cost for adults is $8/Resident and $10/Non-Resident. Cost for sons or daughters is $14/Resident and $17/Non-Resident. To register visit Nash Recreation Center or register over the phone at 815-732-3101. Online registration is not recommended for the dances, but visit www.oregonpark.org for more information on the dances and other Park District Events.
