Gospel quartet performing at Fifth Friday music event


In their 29th year of ministry the well-known, and very popular, Gospel Quartet “The Assemblymen” will be appearing at Franklin Grove’s historic H.I. Lincoln building at 7 p.m. on May 31. 

Their combination of Gospel music and Gospel ministry is legendary on the Northern Illinois music scene.                                               

The multi-talented group includes soundman John Tallecksen who also sings with the group Professions of Faith; baritone Paul Nelson who doubles as tour bus driver in traveling to events; lead singer Gary Shull. Gary also does double duty with the Professions of Faith; High Tenor David Nelson who is also one of the founders 29 years ago; and bass singer Vern Thompson to round out the talented group.  

For really good music, their appeal is truly universal!

The action -packed show will start at 7 pm. Seating is limited so don’t delay. Tickets are available for a $10 donation by calling the H.I. Lincoln building at 815-456-3030 daily from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., noon-4 p.m. on Sundays, or stop by the H.I. Lincoln building during the same hours. Tickets may be available at the door, but a sell-out is a distinct possibility.
