OREGON – Joseph W. Macak, 84, of Oregon, died suddenly Sunday, April 25, 2021 at KSB Hospital, Dixon. He lived the past 16 years in Oregon, moving from Lombard. Born April 17, 1937 in Chicago, the son of William J. and Eleanor (Fitzgerald) Macak.

Married to Audrey Bissell September 17, 1955 in Franklin Park. Joseph was a graduate of Leyden High School in Franklin Park and was employed 45 years as a sheet metal worker, 36 years with Wagner Heating in Addison, retiring in 2001. He was a member of Locals 73 and 265 and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. Joe was an avid bowler. S

urvived by his wife of over 65 years, Audrey Macak of Oregon; son, Kevin (Sharon) Macak of Westmont; daughter, Kathleen (Mark) York of Oregon; grandchildren: Michael Macak, Douglas Macak, Mitchell Macak and Leny York; great grandchildren: Brody and Beckham Macak; brothers: William (Linda) Macak of Hoffman Estates and Lyndon (Judy) Macak of Wood Dale; and sisters: Joan Karpel and Billie Marie Fuller, both of Tucson, Ariz., and Jacqueline (Ken) Bird of Smyrna, Tenn.

Preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Bill Karpel.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family. Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon, assisted the family with arrangements.
