OREGON — Joyce L. Jones, 63, lifetime Oregon resident passed away suddenly at KSB Hospital of Dixon, IL, on Thursday, July 11, 2024. She was born in Oregon, IL on January 23, 1961, the daughter of Lawrence “Larry” W. & Lorretta “Sue” S. (Jones) Wolfe. Joyce attended and graduated Oregon schools where she later worked as a teacher’s aide and reading aide for many years. She loved those kids like they were her own and was proud of every single one of them. She married the love of her life, Jeffrey “Jeff” Jones, on May 24, 1980, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Rockford, IL and shared the next 44 years together. Throughout her life Joyce enjoyed simple things like gardening, crafting, garage saleing, and working on projects with her husband. Her favorite activity, however, would have to be playing cards, especially when doing it with the ones she loved. Her family and friends meant the world to her, she loved watching her grandson, Linkin. He was her pride and joy. She always had something planned for them to do for the day whether it be taking him on a field trip, doing crafts, cooking, or just playing outside. She had many titles, but Grama was by far her favorite. She is preceded in death by her parents Larry & Sue, sister Karen, and mother-in-law Patricia Jones. She is survived and missed dearly by her loving husband Jeff of Oregon, IL; daughter Amanda (Doug) Wehrman of Oregon, IL; son Michael (Nick Graham) Jones of Mt. Morris, IL; grandson Linkin; dog "Rom Bomb"; siblings Kenneth (Joanne) Wolfe Sr. of Oregon, IL, Keith (Bridget) Wolfe, Oregon, IL, Janet (John) Blumeyer of Oregon, IL; father-in-law Ted Jones of Rockford, IL; brother-in-law Ron Sommer of Mt. Morris, IL; sister-in-law Becky (Ken) Langston; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 17, 2024, beginning at 11:00 am with Reverend Timothy Mitchell at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home of Oregon, IL. Visitation hours will be held just prior to the start of the service on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home of Oregon, IL between the hours of 9:00 am and 11:00 am. Immediately following the services Joyce will be laid to rest near her parents at Chapel Hill Memorial Park of Dixon, IL.
