Ken Groeling

PECATONICA – Ken Groeling, 48, of Pecatonica passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019 in his home after a brief illness. Born Nov. 16, 1970 to George (Judith) Groeling and Ella (George) Montgomery.

Ken was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend He loved sitting on the deck, fishing and boating on the Pecatonica river with family and friends. He was known for building demo cars and his dedication to the family business Groeling Salvage. He was a member of the Freeport Moose Lodge, Freeport ABATE chapter and PFE Demo team.

He is survived by his parents, wife Peggy (Lower-Schier), children Kristiani (Jacob) Countryman, Daniel (Veronica) Groeling, Brandon (Sarah) Groeling and Joshua Groeling. Step-children Jodi (Kurt) Goeddeke, Dustin (Kim) Schier and 8 step-grandchildren. Several Nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is predeceased by his daughter, Angelia, his brother Matthew and his father-in-law Clarence Lower.

A celebration of life was held on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Big O’s On The Hollow, Freeport.
