BYRON – Lynn A. Burrows, 77, of Byron, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, at Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon. Born November 23, 1941, in Sparta, Wis., the son of Albert and Olga (Worm) Burrows. Lynn attended St. John’s Lutheran School and Sparta High School. He achieved a B.S. in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

Over the years, Lynn worked with pride and unmatched work ethic as an engineer for American Motors, John Deere, Webster City Products, A.O. Smith, and Ecolab. He always went the extra mile and greatly valued others that did the same. He was extremely skilled mechanically and could fix anything. He was one to take excellent care of his things and valued the well-made.

Lynn was also a very talented musician who shared his gifts with his family and church regularly. He could play the piano, organ, keyboard, guitar, and accordion and enjoyed serenading the neighbors from his back deck on occasion. His wife, two girls, and grandchildren, who were the pride and light of his life, loved to hear him play, especially lullabies when they were little, and hits of his generation and hymns when they were older.

Being an avid nature lover, he enjoyed the many creatures that visited his backyard, especially the many colorful birds he regularly fed. Lynn also valued his community and those that were kind and cared for others, especially those that offered smiles to him around town. He loved his church, All Saints Lutheran in Byron, and found great solace there.

Lynn is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen (Zoellick) Burrows, daughters Darcy (Doug) Friede and Brenda (Randy) Stilson, granddaughter Bijoux Stilson, grandson Finnigan Stilson, niece Bess (Clarence) Clark, niece Bobbie Chisem, nephew Dennis (Carol) Burrows, and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Predeceased by his parents and two half-brothers, Ellsworth and Gerald.

The family would like to thank Bruce and Betty Carby for the blessing of their help as well as many other friends and neighbors.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16 at 11 a.m., with visitation from 10-11 a.m. at All Saints Lutheran Church, 624 Luther Drive, Byron. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lynn’s name to the Rockford Rescue Mission, Salvation Army, or Serenity Hospice and Home would be appreciated. Online condolences at farrellhollandgale.com.
