OREGON – Marie E. Cole, 63, of Oregon died Monday, Dec.14, 2020 in Oregon Living & Rehabilitation Center following an extremely long battle with early onset Alzheimers. Born June 30, 1957 in Aurora, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Sullivan) Brummel.
Marie was a 1975 graduate of Hiawatha High School in Kirkland. Married to Douglas Cole June 7, 2001 in Sycamore. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary 337 in Genoa. Marie loved animals of all sorts and riding on the back of her husband’s Harley.
Survived by her husband, Doug Cole of Oregon; several estranged brothers and sisters and 3 children who she wished would have visited her in her later years; step-daughter, Rachael (Lt. Col. Louis, USAF) McDaneld; and grandchildren, Jonathon, Abigale and Michah, who dearly loved their Grandma Marie.
Preceded in death by her parents and Aunt Mary.
Thanks are extended to Unity Hospice of Rochelle for their excellent end of life care. No services are scheduled. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie’s name may be made to any animal rescue shelter or directed to the family. Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon assisted the family.
