STILLMAN VALLEY – Marie G. Young, age 89, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford. She was born June 15, 1930 near Stillman Valley the daughter of Frank and Elsie (Friday) Baker.
She attended Stillman Valley Schools. Marie formerly worked for 4th Street Greenhouse in Rockford. She married James Baxter in 1948; he preceded her in death in 1990. She than married Wesley Young in 2010, he preceded her in 2017. Marie was a member of the Kishwaukee Community Evangelical Presbyterian Church and the New Milford Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her family and friends playing cards.
Marie was predeceased by her parents, 3 sisters; Alta Mae Kerr, Marjorie Reints, and Lorraine Strang, and brother Roy Baker.
She is survived by her children Gary (Trudy) Young of Stillman Valley, Steve (Mary) Young of Madison, Wis., and numerous grandchildren, 2 sisters Dorothy Kittleson of Rockford and Lorretta Holtman of Franklin Grove, and many nieces and nephews.
Private funeral service will be held at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home in Stillman Valley with the Pastor Jaci McNeil from Faith Wesleyan Church in Rockford and Pastor Casey Fiut from New Milford Methodist Church co-officiating.
