OREGON –Mildred L. "Millie" Schier, 89, lifelong Oregon resident, died Tuesday, June 4, 2019 in her home. Born July 20, 1929 in Pine Creek Township, the daughter of Newton and Edna (Field) Long.
Married to Donald E. "Gene" Schier March 31, 1950 in Oregon; he died March 20, 2011. Millie was a 1947 graduate of Oregon High School. She farmed with her husband in Pine Creek Twp. for many years and enjoyed gardening, canning, taking photos and family gatherings. Millie lived a faith based Christian life and raised her children and grandchildren in that way.
Survived by her sons; John Schier and David Schier, both of Oregon, Mark Schier of Daytona, Fla., and Luke (Carrie) Schier of Polo; 8 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and half-brothers, Jonathan Long and Keith Long.
Also predeceased by her parents and infant son, James Edward.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 17 in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon preceded by a visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Pastor Luke Schier of the Open Bible Church, Polo, will officiate. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Park, Dixon. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Millie's name may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
