Nancy S. Roos

OREGON – Nancy S. Roos, 62, Oregon, died peacefully in her sleep Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019.

Nancy was born June 9, 1957, on a military base in Omaha, Nebraska. She moved to Illinois at an early age and grew up in Stillman Valley where she graduated high school in 1975 2nd in her class. After high school, she worked in Oregon for Sandy Sanderson. Nancy moved to Madison, Wis., where son Travis Ratzlaff was born. She obtained her associate’s degree in interior design at Madison Technical College. In 1986, Nancy moved back to the area to marry Danny Roos and the two of them resided in Oregon. Nancy and Danny took over the 47-year-old family-owned automotive business from Danny’s dad (Dan Roos) in 1989. The two worked side by side building six different business which serviced the Oregon and Ogle County area for 29 years. Nancy would always find time in her busy schedule for her family and loved preparing and hosting holiday dinners. She also enjoyed gardening, vacationing and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her parents, Norma (Byemaster) Hardesty and Dennis Hardesty of Byron; husband, Danny Roos; son, Travis Ratzlaff; two step sons, Josh Roos and Jeremy Roos; two grandsons, Hayden Roos and Sam Roos, all of Oregon; sister, Sandra (Hardesty) Ferge, brother-in-law, Loreen Ferge, and nieces, Arin (Ferge) Oliver and Amber Ferge; sister, Peggy Hardesty, and nephew, Shane Shonerock; and sister, Denise Hardesty, and niece, Coral Cerasani, nephew, Jerry Cerasani.

She is preceded in death, by her brothers Greg Hardesty and Kevin Hardesty.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
