Norma I. Bymaster Hardesty

BYRON – Norma I. Bymaster Hardesty, 85, of Byron, the best wife, mom, grandma and great grandma a husband could ever ask for, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020 in her home. Born March 23, 1935 in Oregon, the daughter of Russell and Mary (Howard) Bymaster.

Norma married her high school sweetheart, Dennis Hardesty, in Oregon on July 30, 1955 by the Justice of the Peace, Chet Landers. To this marriage six children were born: Kevin, Greg and Nancy (deceased); Denise, Peggy and Sandra (surviving). Norma loved her family and friends, never missing sending them Christmas, birthday and anniversary cards. She always had Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner for all her family into her late 70s. Norma worked at Quality Metal, 3rd National Bank and then in the printing business for 26 years, retiring from Professional Graphics in Rockford. She loved to can and take care of her flowers and was the best cook. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Also preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Norma will be dearly missed by all her family, especially her husband of 65 years, Dennis.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, private family services will be held with burial in Mouth of Stillman Cemetery, Stillman Valley with Pastor David Rogula presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Norma’s name may be made to Mercy Hospice of Rockford or Serenity Hospice & Home, Oregon. Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Byron assisted the family with arrangements.
