Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: Aug. 20-22, 2024

OREGON — On Aug. 20 at approximately 9:21 p.m. deputies responded to 3961 W. Illinois Route 64, at the Mt. Morris Motel, for a report of damage to a vehicle. After a brief investigation, Denise Wagoner, 38, of Mt. Morris, was arrested for criminal damage to property. Wagoner was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held pending a court appearance in front of a judge.

On Aug. 20 at approximately 5:27 p.m. deputies responded to the area of Lindenwood for a juvenile complaint involving a 16-year-old juvenile driving a vehicle without a driver’s license. A short time later, deputies located the car and conducted a traffic stop. After a brief investigation, the 16-year-old male from Lindenwood was issued a citation for no valid driver’s license, and was given a notice to appear for a later court date. The male was released to his parents on the scene.

On Aug. 21 at approximately 11:31 p.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop on East Illinois Route 64 at Interstate 39 on a vehicle for speeding. Upon further investigation deputies arrested Sergio De Leon, 23, of Rockford, for driving while license suspended. De Leon was released on a notice to appear with a future court date given.

On Aug. 22 at approximately 11:22 p.m. deputies responded to a single-vehicle non-injury accident at the 7,000 block of East Illinois Route 72. After an investigation, Marcelo Castillo, 32, of Mt. Morris, was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. Castillo was also cited for improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed. Castillo was transported to the Ogle County Jail before he was released on a notice to appear.

On Aug. 22 at approximately 9:08 p.m. deputies along with the Byron Police Department responded to the area of 100 South Union Street in Byron for the report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance. Deputies located Jonathan Keegan, 29, of rural Byron walking along East Blackhawk Drive.  Keegan was provided a ride to his residence where an altercation occurred shortly thereafter.  Keegan was arrested for the charge of battery after a confrontation with a male at his residence. Keegan was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held until an appearance before a judge.  

All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
