Oregon Park District hosting flower and plant sale

Posted

OREGON – You will not want to miss out on this safe, social distanced shopping opportunity.  The Oregon Park District annually coordinates the Flower & Plant Sale and Mini Market the first Saturday in May.

Stop by the Sale on the Courthouse lawn between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 1. For those who love to garden you will not find better deals on flowers and plants. You can purchase everything from hanging baskets, perennials, annuals, succulents, starter veggies, herbs and more. There will be some garden art items as well and yard décor.

For those interested in the Market items you can find everything from homemade jams and jellies, maple syrup, homemade snacks and baked goods, handmade soy candles, and more.  Your dog will thank you for picking up the homemade healthy dog treats!  If you work up an appetite while shopping, be sure to grab and go delicious homemade popsicles or visit Hector’s booth for fresh fruit drinks, tamales, sweet empanadas and everyone’s favorite chips and salsa.

All vendors, staff and volunteers will be wearing face coverings. All visitors to the Plant Sale and Market are asked to wear face covering. There will be hand sanitizer available. Please social distance of at least 6-ft between non-household individuals. Use touchless payments if possible. You can find parking on Washington Street, the lot on the corner of Washington and 5th Street next to the Judicial Center, or the City lot off of 5th street.

Feel free to bring the kids.  They can enjoy a make and take craft for a small fee.  Or, stop at the Park District booth and let the kids plant a fairy garden (while supplies last).  Register by April 28 through the Park District to reserve your fairy garden kit. $5 per kit. Otherwise, payment can be made with a credit card at the Plant Sale. No cash or checks will be accepted.

Vendor numbers are limited due to social distancing and capacity. However, interested vendors can contact Debbie Leffelman at the Oregon Park District, 815-732-3101 or email debbie@oregonpark.org to see if space is still available.
