Popular dance events return this year

OREGON – The Oregon Park District always has a special event on the horizon and the staff absolutely love “Creating fun for a lifetime” that families can enjoy.

The ever-popular Daddy Daughter Dance and the Mother Son Date Night are back after Covid restrictions forced the cancellation last year. The registration deadline: Friday, March 4 is fast approaching so sign up today!

The Mother Son Date Night will take place on Friday evening, March 18, at 6:30 p.m. with a At The Fishin’ Hole theme.    Not only is there dancing, but the boys love to play games and can earn “Bobber Buck” to spend at the “Bair Shop”.  Young boys will enjoy this one-on-one time with their moms or a mother- figure.  The Daddy Daughter Dance is on Saturday, March 19, with a Under the Sea theme.  Dads or those father-figures can treat your little princess to a wonderful evening of dancing. Make them feel special and demonstrate to young girls how a man should treat them later in life. The tradition at the dance is for the girls to make a commemorative bracelet. Some of the girls that have been coming to the dances for years have quite a collection.

The dances are so much fun and give couples a chance to make memories. Professional Photographer, Danny Williams, Williams Group Photography, will be there to capture that special moment for families. Refreshments, dance contests and the ever-popular balloon drop at the end of the evening are just part of the excitement. Not only are the events fun for the couples, but the dances are good for Oregon and the local economy. There are flowers ordered, hair is styled, restaurant reservations are made, and more.

We encourage you to sign up now if you haven’t already. This year’s dance is the perfect opportunity to dress up and spend some quality time with your child.  For pricing and to register, visit Nash Recreation Center, or register over the phone at 815-732-3101.
