MOUNT MORRIS – R. Jean Littlewood Albrecht, 97, of Pinecrest Community in Mount Morris, formerly of Walnut, Byron, and Marseilles, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Pinecrest Terrace.
Funeral services was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 13 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Clark of Marseilles Church of the Nazarene officiating. Visitation was from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Nichol Cemetery in Marseilles.
She was born Sept. 20, 1923, in Marseilles, to Charles and Elizabeth (Yuill) Kleinmaier. In 1948, she married Elroy Littlewood who preceded her in death in 1986. In 1989, she married Paul Albrecht of Walnut who preceded her in death in 2009.
Jean graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1946 with a degree in home economics. She accepted a teaching position at Marseilles High School, where she met the industrial arts teacher, Elroy Littlewood, marrying him in 1948. After moving to Rockton, she continued teaching at Hononegah High School. Then, she retired for ten years to raise her family. She returned to the teaching field as an elementary school teacher and finished her teaching career at Highland Grade School in Stillman Valley.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean Ellen (Richard) Welker of Leaf River,; her son, David E. (Tatyana) Littlewood of Mesa, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Jean and Catherine Elena Littlewood; her step-grandchildren, Paul, Judy, and Wende Griffith and Rita May.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her spouses, Elroy Littlewood and Paul Albrecht; her step-daughter, Jeannine Griffith; and her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Adrienne Kleinmaier.
