MOUNT MORRIS – During June, the Mt. Morris community and area visitors enjoyed the annual Student Art Show in the Old Sandstone Gallery, 122 S Wesley Ave., and then in July, the Regional Artist Showcase featuring seven area artists.
Aug. 4, the gallery will be transformed into the Encore! Fine Art Show with “Radical Botanicals” as its theme. Almost 40 art pieces by 16 artists will be displayed in a variety of media for the month of August. Opening night was Aug. 6.
Throughout the month of August, the gallery will be open each Friday (6:30-9 p.m.) during the Jamboree concerts, three Saturdays during the Straw Sculpting competition concerts (6:30-9 p.m., Aug. 14, 21, 28), all day during Straw Fest (10 a.m.-5 p.m), and during the Country Living Tour on Sunday, Aug. 29, noon-4:30 p.m. Come enjoy the festivities and the art.
