OREGON – Raul Hernandez Garcia, 57, longtime Oregon resident, died Wednesday, May 29, 2019 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford. Born Sept. 11, 1961 in Plainview, Texas, the son of Theodoso B. Sr. and Maria E. (Hernandez) Garcia. 

He graduated from Galva High School in Galva, Ill., and then graduated from Kishwaukee Community College with his Associate Degree in Automotive Technology. He married Kathleen Marie Cook June 23, 1993 in Oregon. Raul had been employed at Rayovac Corp. in Dixon. He enjoyed fishing, sports, especially the Cubs and Bears, mushroom hunting, working on cars, dancing and loved the band KISS.

Survived by his wife, Kathleen Marie Garcia of Oregon; sons, Christopher (Sarah) Garcia of Galva, Joshua (Holly) Larson of Mt. Morris and Dustin "Mister" (Stacie Skoff) Garcia of Oregon; daughters, Alice (Andrew) Swanson of Galva, Jenna (Steve Pikorz) Larson of Midlothian and Miranda  "Mamas" (Michael Bandy) Garcia of Rochelle; 18 grandchildren; brothers, John Garcia, Isreal Garcia, Daniel Garcia, Tiodoso Garcia Jr, Marsial Garcia and Wally Garcia; sisters, Olivia Moreno, Rosa Hernandez, June Watson, Adela Cantu, Jeanie Velasques and Veronica Oregon, his Goddaughter Ivonna Marie Garcia,  and his cat and best friend, Little Bit.

Predeceased by his parents.

Funeral services were held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 8 in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon preceded by a visitation beginning at 2 p.m. Friends and Family were invited to The Polo Room at 712 N. Division Ave., Polo, IL 61064 following the service. Memorials may be directed to the family.
