CHANA – Robert Edwin Anderson, age 93, passed away Friday, March 11, 2022. He was born Aug. 2, 1928 on the family farm near Chana the son of Edwin F. and Ouida F. (Barnes) Anderson.
Bob was drafted into the U.S. Army and served his country in Korea. Bob farmed the family farm for many years prior to becoming the rural postal carrier for Chana. He held that position for 27 years, retiring in October of 1998. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed gardening in his younger years. His last several years were spent at The Meadows and Franklin Grove Living Center where he met and befriended several of the residents and staff.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, sisters Isabelle, Frances, and Helen (Wayne) King, nephews Dennis and John (Debbie) King and great nephew Seth King.
He is survived by his nephew Robert (Deborah) King and several great nieces and nephews.
A visitation was held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. 7th St. in Oregon, followed by a 11 a.m. Graveside service at the Washington Grove Cemetery with the Pastor David Rogula officiating.
