BYRON – Sandra Lee Haynes, age 82, of Byron became whole again on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021 at 12:10 a.m. The youngest Child of Kenneth and Lena (Champion) Burns. She married Glenn Ingram, and they had five children. She then married James Haynes and together they raised their eight kids.

She worked at Ma’s Café for a few years but mainly was a stay-at-home housewife. Sandra was a social butterfly who loved being around people. She enjoyed bowling, working in her yard, and embroidery. She was an animal lover and even had a squirrel that would come to her door for food. She had a passion for cooking and making sure everyone who came through her door was well fed. But, her main focus in life was her family.

She is survived by her children, Sandy (Terry) Gobin of Byron, David (Kathy) Ingram of Byron, Penny Hammer of Pecatonica, Joe (Tina) Haynes of Rural Retreat, Va., Matt Haynes of Whitewater, Wis., and Brad (Jeanine) Ingram of Byron; sister, Judy (Bob) Shuga of Rockford, 30 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and dad’s car gang.

She is preceded in death by her daughters, Glenda Meyers and Joyce Streff, husband, James, grandchildren, Jason and Deana, her parents, 1 brother, and 4 sisters.

The family would like to give many thanks to Walnut Acres in Freeport for their great care of mom.

Funeral services were held on Thursday. Nov. 4, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home in Byron with Pastor Randy Snider Officiating.
