Sharon (Levey) Schuring, 76, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones. Born January 25, 1946, in Elgin, to Sheldon and Virginia (Dare) Levey. She graduated from Larkin High School in Elgin. Sharon married Dennis Schuring on July 10, 1964 in Algonquin.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Elgin, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School. Sharon was employed by Illinois Bell where she started as a service representative in 1978. She ended her career in 2001 in a group called RCMAC. She was a seamstress for the Elgin Theatre Company. After retirement, she spent the majority of her time with her family and taking care of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed hosting family dinners, gardening, and cooking and baking. She was also known for her compassion for animals. Monthly Sharon got together with a group of friends that called themselves the kindergarten group. They started grade school together at Illinois Park School in Elgin.
Survived by her husband, Dennis; children, Dan (Lisa) Schuring and Sheli (Jeff) Chapin; grandchildren, Aubrey, Lindsay, Nick, Ian and Nathan Schuring, Julia (Marc) Jacobson, and Jamie Chapin; and sister, Wendy (Ron) Hansen. Predeceased by her parents.
