GRAND DETOUR – Sheila Fordyce, age 67, of Grand Detour, died Wednesday. Feb. 27, 2019, at home. She was born July 19, 1951, in Morrison, the daughter of Oscar and Lillian (Payne) Pace. She worked as a Material Handler for Quebecor in Mt. Morris.
Sheila enjoyed riding her motorcycle with Dave, playing games and cards, and trips to the casino.
She married William Fordyce on Nov. 17, 1970 in Rock Falls. He preceded her in death February 16, 1990.
She was also preceded in death by her son Larry Wayne Fordyce and her sister Sandra Bennett.
She is survived by her children; Donna (Mike) Mekemson of Dixon, Bill (Kristina) Fordyce of Mt. Morris; 4 grandchildren Steve, Breanna, Makayla, and Quinnlyn; several brothers; and her "Old Man" of over 25 years Dave Pope of Grand Detour.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation and Celebration of Life were held on Saturday March 2, 2019, from 2-4 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon. Condolenses may be sent online at www.thejonesfh.com.
