MOUNT MORRIS – The Mount Morris Jamboree is pleased to welcome back the 60's tribute band Shindig for their performance at the band shell on Aug. 2, starting at 7 p.m.

Shindig presents a tribute to the 60's and always delivers a trip back to the greatest and most diverse decade of Rock and Roll music. Covering over 90 different bands from that period of time where music told the story of an entire generation – early 60's, British Invasion, Psychedelic, pop, girl groups, Woodstock are all part of the show. Tom Rychter and Tom Benson play guitars and sing, John Murphy plays bass, Sharman Strode sings and Mark Lega plays drums and sings. Everyone fortunate to see their performance here last year will readily attest to the excitement this band brings to the stage.

Chapter CU of the P.E.O. will be serving meatball sandwiches, hot dogs, cole slaw, chips, cold drinks and cookies starting at 6 p.m. Special "meal deals" will be offered.

The Encore! Art Gallery will be open in Old Sandstone, just adjacent to the shell, that evening from 6-9:30 p.m. as well, featuring opening night of the Airbrush Art Show, displaying a variety of works by local Artists. Other food and craft vendors will likely be on site as well, including Jen's Artisan Breads, featuring many different varieties of scrumptious fresh baked bread.
