Virginia May Good

Virginia May Good, 86, passed away on Monday, Feb. 21, 2022 in Rochelle with her family at her side. She was born on Sept. 9, 1935 in Rochelle, the 2nd daughter of eight children to Jewell and Marion (Eckhardt) Holloway. Beginning with a blind date, Ginger married the love of her life, Orville Good, on March 22, 1952; he preceded her on May 13, 2007. While driving to her family’s home, she stopped, applied and was hired on the spot at Eaton in material control. Ginger loved to have her family around her and will be dearly missed.  Ginger enjoyed feeding her family and baking, known to make the best cinnamon roll cookies. The exceptional, loving care and companionship of her sister, Judy, was evident and the entire family was truly honored and grateful.

In addition to her parents and husband, She was preceded in death by two brothers: Loyd and Ronald Holloway; sister, Jean Smith; brothers-in-law, Ted Everest and John Smith; sisters-in-law: Sue Holloway and Norma Holloway; two granddaughters: Jodi Pifer and Tricia Lodico and two nephews: Greg Crisp and Brian Holloway.

Survived by her four children: Jean (Carroll) Cordes of Rochelle, Kathy (Bill) Pifer of Rogers, Ark., Orville (Linda) Good Jr. of Rochelle and  Diane Good of Rochelle; two brothers: George Holloway of Rochelle and Richard Holloway of Hiawatha, Kan.; two sisters: Dixie (Ronald) Crisp of Rochelle and Judy Everest of Rochelle; sister-in-law, Carrie Holloway of Dixon; 11 grandchildren: Brad (Karen) Cordes, Julie Pifer, Amy (Jacob) Daigle, Derek (Karen) Good, Jeremy (Lisa) Good, Jacob (Rosemary) Good, Andrew (Alyssa) Good, Russ (Liz) Gittleson, Nicky Gittleson, Jesse (Sky) Myers, and Kelsey Myers; grandson-in-law, Kent Lodico;

26 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, 2022 at the Unger Horner Funeral, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. Funeral service was at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 26 at Faith Lutheran Church, 14206 E. Flagg Rd., Rochelle with Rev. Joy Alsop officiating.
