Evan James, a music education major from Oregon, is one of 50 Augustana College student musicians performing in the Augustana Symphonic Band's 2024 Midwest Tour.

The February presentation at the Oregon Depot Museum will feature Gerald Podraza of Galena, Illinois. Plan on coming out to hear the presentation the last Saturday of February, the 24th at 10 a.m. 

The Byron Museum of History hosted an opening reception recently for the Eagle’s Nest Art Group show. The show is open to the public through March 30, every Wednesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The museum is located at 110 N. Union St. in Byron, IL.

The Forreston FFA Alumni is very excited and proud to host the 36th Annual Farm Toy and Craft Show. The show will be held at Forreston High School on March 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Forrestville Valley School District 221 celebrated "Bus Driver Appreciation Week" from Feb. 5-9. The drivers were treated every day with a special treat from administration, athletic department, kitchen staff & the Forreston Grade Schools PTO plus many parents & students.

Emmalee Gilbert was recently named the January Student of the Month at Polo Community High School and received a scholarship from the Polo Schools Foundation for her efforts.

The Stillman Valley Chess team participated in the IHSA State Chess Tournament in Peoria on Friday, Feb. 9 and Saturday, Feb. 10.

The Byron High School ACES team took third at its regional competition.
