Oct. 7
At 4:46 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Flagg Rd. at Lowden Rd. for the report of a two-vehicle crash with no injuries. After an investigation, it was determined that Austin Pearson, 20 of Oregon was driving eastbound on Flagg Rd. in a Nissan passenger car, stopping with traffic at the stop sign for the intersection of Lowden Rd. Antonio Stokes, 31 of Dixon was also traveling eastbound on Flagg Rd. in a Lincoln SUV, and failed to reduce speed to prevent an accident, striking the rear bumper of Pearson’s Nissan. During the investigation, it was determined that Stokes was driving on a revoked driver’s license. Stokes was taken into custody and transported to the Ogle County jail where he was held in lieu of bond. Stokes was also cited for failure to reduce speed to prevent an accident, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Oct. 6
At approximately 9:02 p.m. Deputies responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of Main Street in Leaf River.  After investigation, Deputies placed, Anthony Apodaca, a40 of Leaf River under arrest for Battery, Violation of an Order of Protection, and a valid Ogle County Warrant for Failure to Appear (Violation of an Order of Protection). Apodaca was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.   

Oct. 4
The Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Leticia Bondurant, 31 of Montgomery. for driving while license suspended. Bondurant was arrested by Deputies on I-39 near Rochelle after being stopped for speeding. Bondurant was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle Countty Jail.

Oct. 3
At approximately 9:07 p.m.,Deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Washington St and Seventh St in Oregon.  After further investigation Timothy Smith, 54 of Oregon, was placed under arrest for Driving While License Revoked and an Outstanding Ogle County Warrant. Smith was also cited for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Improper Use of Registration. Smith was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

At approximately 140 a.m. Deputies responded to a one vehicle crash with no injuries in the 1100 block of E. Mud Creek Road.  After investigation, Deputies placed Jorge Carreno, 34 of Byron under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Carreno was additionally issued citations for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident and Operating an Uninsured Vehicle.  Carreno was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

At approximately 1:40 p.m., Deputies assisted a motorist broken down on the southbound exit ramp of I-39 at IL Route 38.  While on scene it was discovered the driver Fernando Macias-Ramirez, 33 of Kansas City Missouri, did not possess a valid driver’s license. Macias-Ramirez was placed under arrest where he received citations for No Valid License and No Valid Registration.  Macias-Ramirez was issued a $2,500.00 I-bond and provided a return court date​


Oct. 2
At approximately 7:50 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2000 block of north IL Route 251 for a speeding violation of 73 mph in a 55 mph zone. After a brief investigation, Ethan Greiner, 9 of Rockford, was placed under arrest for Driving on a Suspended License. Greiner was also cited for speeding. Greiner was released at the scene on an I-bond and given court date to appear in court.

At about 4:15 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop at Franklin Street and Third Street in Oregon IL.  After a short investigation Deputies arrested Jerome Huenefeld 21 of Oregon for unlawful possession of cannabis/driver and cited him for no turn signal when required.  Jerome was released on an I-bond and will appear in court at a later date.  

Oct. 1
At 1:06 a.m. the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office and lynn Scott Rock Fire Dept. were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on Rte 72 near Moulton Road. Investigation by Deputies revealed that a east bound Kia SUV operated by Jessica Harper- Wlodarczyk, 39 of Davis Junction had struck a concrete barrier on the overpass. Harper was transported by LSR ambulance to the Rochelle Hospital for treatment of what appeared to be minor injuries. Harper was arrested for DUI and improper lane usage and released on a I-bond.

Sept. 30
At approximately 8:35 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 4500 block of south Lowell Park Road for a speeding violation of 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. After a brief investigation, Osvaldo Chavez, 23 of Sterling, was placed under arrest for no valid driver’s license. Chavez was also cited for speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Chavez was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. 
Sept. 29
A approximately 9:19 p.m., Ogle County Deputies were dispatched to intersection of German Church Road at Limerick Road for the report of a vehicle in the ditch.  Deputies were advised prior to their arrival, that the vehicle was traveling through a bean field before becoming stuck in the ditch.  After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested Thera N. Anspach, 38 of Byron, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis/Driver. Anspach was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond. Anspach was also cited for Open Container of Alcohol.  Deputies also arrested passenger Charles R. Gallagher, 43 of Oregon, for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis/Passenger.  Gallagher was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.  Gallagher was also cited for Open Container of Alcohol.  ​

At approximately 4 p.m., Deputies were dispatched to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of IL Route 38 and Main Street in Creston. After conducting an investigation, it was discovered Chase Schott (age 20 of Monroe Center) was traveling eastbound into Creston when he didn’t realize a motorcycle traveling in front of him was turning south onto Main Street.  Schott then applied the brakes causing his vehicle to skid to the right shoulder before over-correcting and crossing both lanes of traffic where he struck an oncoming car driven by Daniel Calderon (age 19 of Rochelle). Calderon was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital for injuries. Schott was issued citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage.  Schott was released from the scene and provided a future court appearance. 

Sept. 29
At approximately 9:19 p.m. Deputies initiated a traffic stop on IL Route 64 & Skare Road for a speeding violation of 71 mph in a 55 mph zone. After further investigation Deputies arrested Roman Martinez, 27 from Rochelle, for Driving While License Suspended. Roman was also issued a citation for Speeding. Roman was transported to the Ogle County Jail in lieu of bond. 

Sept. 28
At approximately 11:04 a.m. Deputies performed a traffic stop in the 8,000 block of N. IL Rte. 2.  After investigation Deputies placed Ryan Pearcy, 26 of Byron under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance (cocaine), Possession of a Controlled Substance (MDMA), Possession of a Controlled Substance (LSD), Possession of a Controlled Substance (psilocybin mushrooms), and Improper Cannabis Container Driver.  Pearcy was additionally issued a citation for Improper Plate Attachment.  Pearcy was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending a court appearance.    

At approximately 10:50 p.m. Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident with no injuries at the intersection of Kennedy Hill Road and Woodburn Road.  After investigation, Deputies placed Jonathan Mcclanahan, 34 of Winnebago under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.  Mcclanahan was additionally issued citations for failure to obey a stop sign and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Mcclanahan was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.  


Sept. 27
At 1:11 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies and Byron Fire/EMS were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash in the 6900 block of N. IL Rt. 2. After an investigation, it was determined a Chevrolet Sonic, driven by Donald L. Cleven, 90 of Madison, Wis., was driving southbound on IL Rt. 2, attempting to merge from two lanes down to one lane. As Cleven was merging, he struck the front driver’s side bumper of a Peterbilt tractor, driven by Jose Rodriguez Arreguin age 59 of Rockford, that was in the lane Cleven was attempting to merge into. Cleven struck the front bumper of the Peterbilt with the rear passenger side of his vehicle. After striking the Peterbilt, the Chevrolet lost control and entered into the west ditch. Cleven and his passenger were checked by Byron EMS. Cleven was transported to Swedish American Hospital for precaution but did not appear to have any injuries. Cleven’s passenger was checked by EMS and released. The driver of the Peterbilt tractor was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.

Sept. 26
At approximately noon, I was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident in the 1000 block of IL Route 64.  After conducting an investigation, it was learned Paul Branning (age 53 of Oregon) was traveling eastbound in the 1000 block of IL Route 64 on a Harley Davidson Motorcycle when a black Ford F250 driven by Jeffrey Boyden (age 48 of Oregon) pulled out of a private drive striking Branning. Branning was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries sustained as a result of the crash. Boyden was issued citations for Failure to Yield at a Private Drive, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, and Expired Registration.
