At 2:37 p.m. following a traffic stop in the 7000 block of west Illinois Rte 72 Deputies arrested Stanley L Plaza, 58, of Mt Morris for driving without a valid driver's license. Plaza was transported to the Ogle Co Jail and held in lieu of bond.
At 11:03 p.m. following a traffic stop at Illinois Rte 251 and Steward road Deputies arrested Dereck Merritt, 35, of New Freedom, WI for driving while license suspended. Merritt was released on scene on a 2500.00 I-Bond and will appear in court on 02/28/2020 at 9:00 am .
At approximately 8:30 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 3000 block of N. IL Rte 2. After a short investigation, Michelle R. Smitherman, 37, of Mount Morris, was arrested for Driving while License Suspended. Smitherman was also issued citations for Operataing an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and a Tail light violation. Smitherman was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.
Jan. 28
At approximately 3:45 p.m., Ogle County Sheriffs Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident in the 7,000 block of Lowell Park Road. After an investigation it was determined that a Chevrolet Avalon being driven by Jared Babler, 22 of Mt. Morris, failed to slow for the curve at that location. Babler drove off of the roadway were the vehicle came to a stop in the snow. As a result of the investigation Babler was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Babler sustained no injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene. Babler is due to appear in Ogle County Court at a later date.
Ogle County Deputies Arrested Carrington Carter, 31 of Rochelle, on an Outstanding Ogle County Warrant for Domestic Battery. Carter had a bond of $3,000/10%. Carter posted bond and was released with a return court date of 2/14/20 at 9:00am.
Jan. 27
At approximately 11:30 a.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 17000 block of E IL Route 38. After further investigation, Isabella Adamski, 23, of Dekalb was arrested for Driving While License Suspended. Adamski was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she received citations for Driving While License Suspended, No Valid Insurance, Expired Registration, and Failure to Wear Seat Belt.
Jan. 26
At 9:27 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies, along with Stillman Valley EMS, responded to the intersection of E. Macklin Rd. and N. Stillman Rd. for a single vehicle rollover crash. After an investigation, it was determined Beth Sawyer, 46 of Holcomb, was attempting to turn southbound on to N. Stillman Rd. from E. Macklin Rd. Sawyer did not successfully complete the turn and crashed her vehicle into the south ditch, causing her vehicle to turn onto its driver's side. Sawyer was checked by Stillman Valley EMS and refused to be transported. Sawyer was then placed under arrest for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol and transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.
Jan. 24
At approximately 2:02 PM Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies performed a traffic stop in the 1,000 block of N. Freeport Road. After investigation Deputies placed Isaiah Holmes, 21 of Houston, Texas under arrest for No Valid Driver's License. Holmes was additionally issued citations for Improper Display of Registration and Expired Registration. Holmes was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
At 8:28 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies along with Ashton EMS responded to the 7000 block of East Flagg Rd. for a single vehicle crash with injuries. After an investigation it was determined that Sarah Stoecker, 23 of Chillicothe, had lost control of her Ford SUV while driving westbound on Flagg Rd., causing her vehicle to travel into the south ditch striking a utility pole. All 5 occupants were checked by Ashton EMS and refused treatment. Travis House, 23 of Chillicothe, was the front seat passenger of the vehicle and was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. House was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.
Jan. 23
Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies Arrested Amanda Van Oosten, 39, of Mt. Morris for an Outstanding Ogle County Warrant for Driving 11-14 MPH Above Limit. Van Oosten has a bond of $3,000/10% and will appear in court on 1/23/2020 at 1:00pm.
Jan. 22
The following people were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:
Frank Fenton, 55, of Byron for Domestic Battery Warrant. Fenton had a bond of $5000 / 10%. Fenton did post the $5000/ 10% bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Fenton has to return for court on 02/05/20 at 10:00 am.
Jay Moore, 45, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Moore has a bond of $1,630, and Moore will return back to court on 01/24/20 at 9:00 am.
John R. Powell, 58, of Polo for Suspended Drivers License. Powell had a bond of $5,000/ 10%. Powell went to court and received a $5,000 recog. Powell was released from the Ogle County Jail and will return back to court on 01/24/20 at 9:00 am.
Dominic N. Mireles , 37, of Rockford for Driving while License Suspended, Criminal Trespass to Residence, and Obstructing Identification. Mireles had a bond of $5000/10%, $5000/10%, and $3000/10%. Mireles will go to court on 01/23/20 at 1:00pm.
Jonathan G. Dalton, 30, of Schaumburg for Failure to Appear. Dalton has a bond of $2159 and will go to court on 01/24/20 at 9:00 am.
Andrew J. Wood, 24, of St. Clair, Mo for CDL not Obtained. Wood had a bond of $5,000/10%. Wood was released from the Ogle County jail and Wood will return to court on 03/30/20 at 9:00 am.
Jeffrey M. Plantz, 22, of Dixon for Disorderly Conduct, and Failure to Appear . Plantz had a bond of $3,000/10%, and $516. Plantz did go to court and has a bond of $516. Plantz will go to court on 01/24/20 at 9:00 am.
