Oregon golf teams take on Hinckley-Big Rock

The Oregon High School varsity boys golf team defeated Hinckley-Big Rock 183-232 on Thursday, Aug. 15. Brogan Wilkinson led the Hawks with a team-low 42 to earn medalist honors. Nole Campos and Jackson Messenger each fired 44 in the win. 

Oregon’s JV boys and varsity girls golf teams played a nine-hole scrimmage since Hinckley-Big Rock did not have a team for either match. Sarah Eckardt led the girls with a 52 and Toni Withers followed with a 53. Tucker O’Brien led the JV boys team with a 50.

Oregon girls golf team wins Eastland Invitational

Ogle County boys golf teams battle at Byron Tiger Invitational

Byron High School hosted the Byron Tiger Invitational at PrairieView Golf Club on Saturday, Aug. 17. Byron finished second with 337, while Forreston finished fourth with 345, Stillman Valley took fifth with 352 and Oregon placed seventh with 370.

Oregon golf teams face Erie-Prophetstown and Indian Creek

The Oregon High School varsity boys golf team took down Erie-Prophetstown and Indian Creek at Silver Ridge on Monday, Aug. 19. Jackson Messenger scored 40 to earn medalist honors, while Nole Campos totaled a 43 to finish as one of the two meet runner-ups. Oregon won the meet with 175, while Erie-Prophetstown shot 186 and Indian Creek recorded 237.

The Oregon High School varsity girls golf team lost a close match against Erie-Prophetstown 205-209. Aniyah Sarver scored a team-best 45 to earn runner-up honors for the Hawks.

Oregon golf teams compete against Genoa-Kingston

The Oregon High School varsity boys golf team fell 168-171 against Genoa-Kingston at Swan Hills Golf Course on Tuesday, Aug. 20. Nole Campos was the runner-up finisher with a 39, while Brogan Wilkinson and Jackson Messenger each shot 43 and Landon Anderson added 46.

The Oregon High School varsity girls golf team won 198-242 over Genoa-Kingston, with Aniyah Sarver shooting 44 to earn medalist honors. Sarah Eckardt was the runner-up finisher with a 46 and Hailey-Jane Becker added a 50.

Forreston boys golf team beats LWPC

The Forreston High School varsity boys golf team scored a 176-184 win over LWPC on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at Sunset Golf Course. Kaden Brown led the Cardinals with a 38 to earn medalist honors, while Kendall Erdmann added a 43 and Daylen Rahn fired a 46.
