POLO – Barbara R. Ludewig, 86, of Polo, died Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Manor Court, Freeport. Barbara was born April 29, 1934 in Lanark, the daughter of Charles P. and Ruth (Melzer) Boddiger.

Barbara married Earl F. Ludewig April 13, 1957 in Polo. Mr. Ludewig died Sept. 28, 2001. Barbara owned and operated Floral Elegance and New Village Inn both in Polo. She was a member of Faith Discovery Church, Polo. Barbara enjoyed crocheting and working with flowers in her free time.

Surviving are three sons, Gerald Ludewig and Kenneth (Valerie) Ludewig both of Polo, and Phillip Ludewig of Orlando, Fla.; three daughters, Cindy (Jeffery) Kurpius of Sterling, Wendy Stabenow of Ridott, and Marcy (Brad) Nalley of Orlando, Fla.; two brothers Charles Boddiger of Archbold, Ohio and John (Leonore) Boddiger of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; two sisters, Mary Lloyd of Freeport and Kathryn (Alfred) Mathys of Crescent City, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Dyson, Suzanne Allen, Joann Malke, Faith Jacobs, Cynthia Jacobs, Jasmyn Ludewig, and Quintin Ludewig; two step-grandchildren, Courtney Kruse and Skylar Cavazos; also surviving are 13 great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son-in-law, Ron Stabenow.

Family funeral services were held Thursday May 28, 2020 at Faith Discovery Church, Polo. Pastor Jeremy Heller officiated. Burial was in Haldane Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Barbara’s memory. Please sign her guestbook and share a remembrance at www.burketubbs.com
