POLO – Betty E. Witmer, 87, of Polo, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. She worked for Wal-Mart as a sales associate prior to her retirement.
Betty was born March 5, 1934, in Dixon, the daughter of Faye and Edith (Geldean) Drynan. She married Ronald Witmer on November 22, 1953, in Polo. He preceded her in death May 22, 1979. Betty was a member of Crossroads Church in Polo.
She is survived by her, four sons, Dave Witmer, Timothy Witmer, Randall Witmer, John (Amy) Witmer; one daughter, Tina Buck; 18 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her two daughters, Rhonda Grobe, Debbie Grobe; one brother, Leland Drynan; and two sisters, Ina Rae Onnen, and Joyce Hippert.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon, followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
