LEAF RIVER – Connie S. Knaub, age 52, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019 at Jovan Bea Hospital in Rockford. She was born in Freeport on Jan. 6, 1967 the daughter of Laverne and Maelinda (Holland) Bolen.

Connie was a graduate of Stockton High School Class of 1985. She married the love of her life Gary Knaub on May 26, 1997. She worked for MetLife in Freeport for 28 years before working for Byron Insurance Agency for the past 5 years. Connie was a beautiful soul who always had a smile on her face. She was friends with everyone and had a knack for remembering almost everyone’s name. She was a fabulous cook who loved to bake; especially her banana nut bread which she would share with her friends, colleagues and neighbors. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting, boating, and tending her flower garden. Connie had a beautiful singing voice. She loved to travel with Gary and taking rides in the convertible with her favorite dog Roxie.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and father in law Gary Knaub Sr.

She is survived by her loving husband Gary of Leaf River; mother, Maelinda (Duane Bender) Bolen of Cedarville; siblings, Scott Bolen of Atlanta, Ga., and Christine (Todd) Palmer of Elizabeth, Ill.; mother in law, Alice Knaub of Leaf River; sibling in laws, Tim (Rosa) Knaub of Leaf River and Brenda Knaub of Denver, Colo., 4 nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and her fur babies Roxie and Samuel.

A celebration of life was held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019 at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home in Byron with Pastor Randy Snider of Cornerstone Family Church officiating.
