STILLMAN VALLEY – Daniel E. Stocking, age 51, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2021 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford. He was born July 15, 1970 in Rockford the son of Ronald and Joyce (Barth) Stocking.
Dan graduated from Oregon High School in 1988. He then obtained his Associates Degree from Kishwaukee Community College in Malta, Ill., and his Bachelor’s Degree from Northern Illinois University. Dan worked for approximately 20 years at Action Tool in Rockford as a Quality Control Manager. He was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Paynes Point where he served as Treasurer. He was active on the committee of the Chana Play Day where they raise funds for food pantries and scholarships. He loved to snowmobile and was active in the Nebeshone Snowmobile Club in Stillman Valley. Everyone was a friend to Dan and he usually knew their name. Dan was always willing to help people.
He was predeceased by his grandparents and 2 uncles Richard Barth and Glenn Stocking.
He is survived by his parents Ron and Joyce Stocking of Oregon, 2 brothers; Tim (Karen) Stocking of South Elgin, IL and Mark Stocking of Oregon, his sweetie for 15 years Heidi Julia and her daughters Samantha Julia (Spencer Lentz) and Abigail Julia all of Stillman Valley, twin nephew and niece Mathew and Sarah.
Funeral service was 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church at Paynes Point with the Rev. Andrew Kayes officiating. Visitation was from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021, at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 136 W. Roosevelt Road in Stillman Valley. Burial at the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery. A memorial fund is established in Dan’s name for the Chana Play Day.
