OREGON – Darrell Diehl, 85, of Oregon, passed away on Jan. 31, 2021. He was born in Dixon, to Beulah (Huffman) and Esper Diehl.

Growing up on a livestock and grain farm, Darrell learned the values of hard work, responsibility, helping others, and taking care of family. Darrell attended Mt. Morris High School, was a U.S. Marine veteran, and a member of the Mt. Morris Moose Lodge. He made lasting friendships working in the dairy industry, construction, and retiring as an operating engineer. He enjoyed time with family, outdoor activities, and the camaraderie among friends. Some of Darrell’s greatest pleasures were the years he spent harvesting crops, cultivating, and grooming the land he grew up on.

Darrell was preceded in death by both parents, brother Ralph Diehl, and wife Carol (Zittle) Diehl.

He is survived by son Rick “DJ” (Kim) Weller, daughters, Kathy (Jeff) Adams and Trina Dailey, two sisters, Maxine Strohecker and Rogene Koch, brother Roger Diehl, eight grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Darrell’s service was Feb. 3 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Dixon, with Rev. Megan Smick, of Oregon United Methodist Church, officiating.
