BELVIDERE – Delaine D. House, age 84, of Belvidere passed away on Friday April 5, 2019 at Wesley Willows in Rockford. She was born in Boscobel, Wis., on Oct. 25, 1934 the daughter of William “Cecil” and Hazel (Stein) Corpian.
She married Larry House on Nov. 28, 1959; he passed before her in 2002. Delaine went to Madison Business College and then got her Master’s in Education from Northern Illinois University. She worked as a teacher in the Meridian School district for 23 years. She was a member of the Monroe Center Community Church where she once served as treasurer. She was also a former member of the Red Hat Society. Delaine enjoyed reading but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Kent (Griselle) House of Belvidere and Dana (David) Brooks of Stillman Valley; grandchildren Eric House, Stephanie House, Brody House, Braeden Kunce, Lindsey (Cody) Blankenship, Cassie (Aaron Kaszczuk) Brooks, Britton Brooks, and Brandie Brooks; and great grandchildren, Kane Blankenship, Mason Blankenship, Isaac Blankenship, Addison Perrot, Blake Perrot, and Tucker Brooks.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Joyce Paar, and great grandson Caiden Perrot.
Funeral services were held at noon on Sunday April 14, 2019 at the Monroe Center Community Church with Pastor Robert Mellon officiating. Visitation was held from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home in Stillman Valley. Burial will be at the Monroe Center Cemetery.
