OREGON – Dolores E. Bradford, age 89, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Pinecrest Manor in Mt. Morris. She was born March 3, 1930 in Chicago, the daughter of Eleanor Marguerite (Ostergren) Waterman and Harold DeViere Waterman.
Dolores married Charles Loren Bradford (Gabby) on June 18, 1949; he died Dec. 19, 2011. Dolores worked for many years with Quaker Oats starting at a Plant in Oregon, and eventually relocating to St. Joseph, Mo., when the company closed the Oregon location.
Dolores was a devout Christian whom had deep involvement within the church. She loved working with the children in the church as a Sunday school teacher, youth group leader and later in life was part of a community outreach program for children known as Seeds of Hope. Dolores was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt that will forever be missed.
She was also predeceased by her parents Harold and Eleanor Waterman, Brother David Waterman, Sister Marjorie Taylor, daughter Alice Jean McAlonan, good friend Helen McMurtry and other sibling’s, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is survived by her children; Kathy (Robert) Kain of Forreston, Jeffrey (Janet) Bradford of West Des Moines, Iowa, grandchildren; Heather Bradford, Jamie (Kari Aupperle) Kain, Charlie (Courtney Strange) Kain, Mike (Cori) Coy, great grandchildren; Abigail Kain, Kaleb Kain, John Coy, Christie Munnich as well as nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service with be 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the Adeline Zion Evangelical Church, 9106 N. Cedar St. Leaf River, IL 61047 with Pastor Larry Jameson officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. A memorial fund has been established for Serenity Hospice and Pinecrest Manor for those who would like to donate to either establishment.
