BYRON – Donald R. Bokker, Jr. age 61, died Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at his home in Byron following a sudden illness. He was born Oct. 27, 1958 in Belvidere, the son of Donald R. and Cletus Mardell (Swartz) Bokker, Sr.
Donald worked for Quality Metal in Byron for 41 years retiring as Plant Superintendent. He had many titles father, boyfriend, Mr. Bokker and Papa. He loved spending time with his family, friends and with his granddaughter. He had many hobbies through the years boating, snowmobiling, golfing and NASCAR, but his final love was riding his Harley on the weekend with family and friends. He enjoyed making his Sunday rounds visiting friends. He was a member of the SM and SF Club of Rockford.
He also enjoyed mowing the yard and taking meticulous care of his cars and motorcycle. One could always find him with a Budlight in his hand and a smile on his face. He has touched many people’s lives and will be greatly missed.
He was predeceased by his parents, sister Julie Bokker and Uncle Carl Buse.
He is survived by his two sons Bret (Brittany) Bokker, Brok Bokker, granddaughter McKenley Bokker, longtime girlfriend Jennifer Varlek and her children Adam and Amber Varlek, brother John (Shelly) Bokker and niece Melissa Bokker all of Byron, and special friends Steve and Donna Brown.
