STILLMAN VALLEY – Doris M. Luttrell, age 87, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022.  She was born Jan. 5, 1935 in Biggsville, Ill., the daughter of Eugene W. and Margaret (Stubbs) Beauchem.

She graduated from Oregon High School in 1954 and then attended Rockford Business School for 3 years. Doris worked for Sunstrand in Rockford for 4 years. She then worked at Quality Metal in Byron for over 28 years in the Buffing Department. Doris married Jimmy L. Luttrell on Jan. 7, 1961 in Oregon. He preceded her in 2005. Doris was a member and attended the Red Brick Church in Stillman Valley for many years. She was a member of the Northern Illinois Tres Dias where she would go on retreats and serve others by making jean bags and baking for people. She was a former member of the Mt. Morris Moose Club. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, gardening, and cooking for her family. Every Sunday you could find her making lunch for anyone who wanted to stop by.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband Jimmy, 2 infant grandsons, brothers Ray, Harry, Donald, and Gene Beauchem, sisters Mary Jern and Margaret Meiers, and her special lifelong friend Mick Deming. 

She is survived by her 3 children: Brenda (Bob) Haye of Stillman Valley, James (Carrie) Luttrell of Davis, and Linda (Jim) Presslor of Davis; brother John Beauchem of Palisades, Minn.; 4 special sisters-in-law; 7 grandchildren: Bobby Haye (Brittany), Katy Hunter (Shelly), Breanna Liedel, Danielle Schabacker (Matt), Derek Luttrell, Patrick Haye (Jessica), and Kirsten Kenney (Austin); Great grandchildren: RJ Haye, Hayden Haye,Vincent Hunter, Audrianna Haye, Landon Liedel, William Hunter, Thomas Hunter, Lydia Liedel, and Olivia Haye, and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral service was 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 136 W. Roosevelt Road, Stillman Valley, IL  61084 with the Pastor Judy Williams, Chaplin of the Rochelle Community Hospital officiating. Visitation was Friday evening at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m., Burial will be in the Byron Cemetery. A memorial fund is established in Doris Luttrell’s name and may be directed to her family.
