Ellsworth L. “Butch” Terviel

STILLMAN VALLEY – Ellsworth L. “Butch” Terviel, age 82, died unexpectantly Tuesday, March 16, 2021. He was born April 10, 1938 in Ogle County, the son of Remmer and Rose (Schumacher) Terviel. 

He graduated from Stillman Valley High School in 1956. Butch married Beryl Barnes 52 years ago in 1969 at the Red Brick Church in Stillman Valley. 

He was a farmer and truck driver and last worked for Chuck Braurer Trucking in Rockford. In his younger years he was active in bowling leagues. Butch also served his country in the naval reserves. He and his wife Beryl owned and operated Beryl’s Country Ceramics where Butch was the master pourer. 

He was predeceased by his parents. 

He is survived by his loving wife Beryl of Stillman Valley, his children; Scott Terviel of Stillman Valley, Kathleen Terviel of Rockford, and Steve (Kim) Terviel of Osage Beach, Mo., 2 granddaughters Tiffany and April Terviel, 5 great grandchildren; Bianca, Tori, Daniel, Hector and Michael. 

Graveside service was held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Stillman Valley Cemetery with the Rev. Chris Brauns pastor of the Red Brick Church officiating.
