STILLMAN VALLEY – Frances E. “Peggy” Lewis, age 83, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Aug. 29, 1938 in Byron, the daughter of Charles and Pearl (Tidiback) Medearis.
She graduated from Byron High School. Peggy married Wesley Lewis on March 30, 1957 at the Ebenezer Reformed Church near Oregon. She worked over 40 years at companies in Rockford including Rockford Screw Products, Barber Colman/Reed Chatwood, and Sundstrand where she retired from. Peggy loved to garden and grow flowers around her home, she enjoyed going with her husband Wes when he raced his street rods, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, 5 brothers, and 4 sisters.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Wesley Lewis, sons; Scott Lewis of Woodville, Ala., and Dustin (Tammy) Lewis of Stillman Valley, 5 grandchildren; Cheyanne (Blake) Guerin, Brandon (Molly) Lewis, Devin Lewis, Chloe Lewis, and Raven Lewis, 3 great grandchildren Brantley, Blake, and Case.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 136 W. Roosevelt Road in Stillman Valley, IL 61084 with the Rev. Randy Snider officiating. Visitation was held prior to the service at the funeral home from 9-11 a.m. Burial at the Stillman Valley Cemetery. A memorial fund is established in Peggy’s name and may be directed to the family.
