DIXON – Gary Lee Fruin, age 70, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021 at the Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon. He was born July 22, 1951 in Dixon the son of Thomas and Claudia (Malach) Fruin.
He graduated from Dixon High School in 1969. He previously worked for the Dixon Telegraph in the printing department and was formerly a cook at Stan Hack’s restaurant in Grand Detour. He then became a co-owner for with his business partner Marty Bush of Ehmen Industries in Oregon from 1980 – 2007. Gary was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, he also loved NASCAR racing, and being a host to his many friends and relatives. He was known for always being there to help out people especially the elderly when they needed a furnace or air conditioner repaired.
He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Claudia Fruin, his parents-in-law Raymond and Evelyn Friemuth, and brother-in-law Robert Friemuth.
He is survived by his wife Gail Fruin of Dixon, Sister Patty (Doug) Carry of Byron, grandchildren Carter and Meghan Fruin, brother-in-law John Friemuth of Mt. Morris, sister-in-law Sharon Osborne of Mt. Morris, and sister-in-law Laurie Friemuth of Oregon.
