OREGON – Gary Wayne Howlett, 78, died on Jan. 19, 2022. Gary was born to Douglas and Genniel (Clapper) Howlett in Oregon, on Aug. 22, 1943.
A lifelong resident of the Oregon area, Gary spent his career in metal manufacturing. His love for the outdoors led him to hiking in the Rockies and paddling his canoe all over. The most notable endeavor was when he and Clarence Bechtold built a canoe and paddled it from Oregon to St. Louis, Mo.
He is survived by his wife Joyce, children Andrea (Emmanuel) Nacionales, Louisville, Ky., Greg (Caroline) Howlett, Atlanta, Ga., Amy (Ben) Lindner, Greenwood, Wis., Jason Howlett, Dixon, Kari Hazlett, Louisville, Ky., sister Patricia (Lyle) Moore, Lanark, and Larry Howlett, Dekalb.
He is preceded in death by his parents Doug and Genniel, and children Randy and Steve.
