MOUNT MORRIS – Ione L. Wells, 63, of Mt. Morris and formerly of Rushville, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021 in Pinecrest Manor, Mt. Morris. Born Dec. 5, 1957 in Beardstown, Ill., the daughter of William W. and Lena Ellouise (McDaniel) Wells.
Ione grew up on the family farm in Rushville and was a 1975 graduate of Rushville High School. She also attended the Oregon Bible College and was a member of Ripley Church of God and Oregon Church of God. Ione was employed in childcare in Springfield and as an office employee of the Illinois Dept. of Transportation. She enjoyed horses and reading.
She is survived by her brother, Aaron Wells of Mt. Morris.
Predeceased by her parents.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5 in Oregon Church of God preceded by a visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Services were also be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6 in Ripley Church of God with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Pastor Michael Hoffman and Pastor Nathan Massie of Oregon Church of God officiated at both services. Burial (Saturday) in Rushville Cemetery.
Memorials in Ione’s name may be made to Oregon Church of God or Ripley Church of God. The family was assisted by Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon and Worthington Funeral Home, Rushville.
