LANARK – Julie (Dusing) Sweeney, age 67, passed away with her family by her side in Serenity Hospice & Home, Oregon, on Thursday Aug. 12, 2021. Julie was born on Nov. 9, 1953 in Chicago, and 5 weeks after she was born she was adopted by Donald and Jean (Smith) Dusing. She graduated from Mt. Morris High School class of 1971 and she graduated from Highland Community College. Julie married David Sweeney on March 6, 1970 in Mt. Morris.
Julie worked as a Planning Manager for MiTek Corp. in Winslow, Ill., and Monroe, Wis., for 28 years retiring on Oct. 18, 2018. She was a member of the Shannon Methodist Church, Shannon.
Julie is survived by her husband: David Sweeney, Lanark; sons: Kraig Sweeney, Lewistown, Mont., and Chad (Melissa) Sweeney, Star Valley Ranch, Wyo.; grandchild: Amy, Lewistown, Mont.; great granddaughters: Brantley and Tylee, Lewistown, Mont.; brother: Michael Dusing, Mt. Morris.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Donald and Jean Dusing.
A memorial service was held Friday, Aug. 20, 2021 at 11 a.m. in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris, with Rev. Julie Bunt officiating. Burial will be held in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris.
