MOUNT MORRIS – Marvin L. “Wally” Satterfield, age 81, passed away in his home on June 24, 2021 in Mt. Morris. Marv was born on March 5, 1940 in Dixon, the son of Leonard E. and Margaret R. (Davison) Satterfield. He attended Mt. Morris High School. Marv married Cheryl Bowker on November 25, 1966 in Mt. Morris.

Marv worked for Dewey Jacobson Gulf Gas Station for several years, worked for the Mt. Morris Street Department, and he finished his career with Kable News Distribution in the mailing department retiring in 2001. Once he retired, he worked for Sunset Golf Course in Mt. Morris.

Marv enjoyed golfing with his family, family vacations, taking care of his lawn, playing cards and games with his family, trips to Las Vegas, he had nicknames for his grandchildren which were his world, but most of all his family was his life and love.

Marv is survived by his wife: Cheryl Satterfield, Mt. Morris,; children: Terri (Roger) Scheidecker, Mt. Morris, and Mark (Denice) Satterfield, Boise, Idaho; grandchildren: Bailey Satterfield, Alyson and Abigail Scheidecker, Daniel Satterfield, Madyson Satterfield; great granddaughter: Julia Sophia Satterfield; brother: Jerry (Shirley) Satterfield, Rockford; several nieces and nephews.

Marv is preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Tammy Lynn; 3 brothers: Richard, Donald, and Roger.

A Celebration of life was held on Tuesday June 29, 2021 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Mt. Morris Moose Lodge, Mt. Morris. A private graveside service will take place at a later date.
