OREGON – Mary A. Grzywa, 88, of Oregon died Tuesday, June 11, 2019 in Serenity Hospice Home, Oregon. Born June 26, 1930 in Bellflower, Mo., the daughter of Roy and Carrie (Cullom) Wells.
Married to Theodore Grzywa July 14, 1951 in DeKalb. Mary Was a 1948 graduate of Waterman High School. She and her husband have lived in Oregon since 1993, moving from Burlington where she had been employed as a teller at the State Bank of Burlington. Mary was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Oregon, its Catholic Daughters of America chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed card playing, people, children and babies.
Survived by her husband, Ted Grzywa of Oregon; sons: Michael (Frances) Grzywa of Metamora, Douglas Grzywa of Hampshire, Stephen (Mary) Grzywa of Marseilles, Mark (Elizabeth) Grzywa of Downers Grove, Kenneth Grzywa of Malta, Eric (Connie) Grzywa of Minooka and Timothy (Leanne) Grzywa of Florida; daughter. Christine (Chia) Krause of Winnebago; 24 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Predeceased by her parents, son Ronald Grzywa and sister Vera.
Christian Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 18 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Oregon with Rev. Joseph Naill as Celebrant. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Oregon. Visitation 5-7 p.m. Monday in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon with a 7 p.m. Rosary Service. Memorials in Mary's name may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, Serenity Hospice & Home or Oregon Fire Department.
