STILLMAN VALLEY – Peggy June Ward Dyal went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Nov. 11, 2021. She was born on Sept. 21, 1937 in Clay County, Ark., to Thomas Aubra and Elsielean (Kittrell) Ward, but raised by her maternal grandparents, George and Ivery Kittrell.
Peggy graduated in 1955 from Corning High School in Corning, Ark., where she was in FFA and played on the Softball Team and Varsity Basketball Team. She married her true love, Joseph Harold Dyal on Oct. 1, 1955 in Success, Ark. Peggy worked at Atwood and J. L. Clark in their early years of marriage and later at the Stillman National Bank, where she retired after 37+ years. Peggy attended the Congregational Christian Church in Stillman Valley where she formally served as church treasurer and in later years Berean Baptist Church in Rockford.
She is survived by sons, Joseph "Rick" (Donna) Dyal, Stillman Valley and Kevin (Jan) Dyal, Rockford. 5 grandchildren; Joe (Amanda) Dyal, Pulaski, Wi, Jarid (Amy) Dyal, Lockport, Jaime Wrasse (Special Friend, Scott Shank) Byron, Sarah Dyal, Peoria, Ariz., and Brian Dyal (Fiancee, Ali Dahl), Broomfield, Colo. 8 Great Grandchildren: Jarid, Natalie, Leatrice, Henry, Pulaski, Wis, Julia and Adam, Lockport, and Conner and Brenden Wrasse, Byron. One brother, Tom Ward, South Petersburg, Fla., sisters-in- laws, Elaine Dyal, Stillman Valley, and Shirley Dyal, Lebanon, Mo.
Peggy loved her Lord and her family. Her favorite activities were cleaning, cooking, camping, fishing, gardening, snow skiing and water skiing. Peggy was pre-deceased by her husband, Joe, parents, grandparents, brothers-in-laws Tom and Gene and great grandson, Aaron Dyal.
A funeral service was held 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 19, 2021 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 136 W. Roosevelt Road in Stillman Valley with the Pastor Lance Mennen officiating. Visitation was held prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial in the Stillman Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to be established at a later date.
